Impact and transparency
What we did, counted and dated
We are a small organisation and we would rather be honest than impressive.
Every figure on this site says what it counts and the period it covers, and comes from our own service logs and annual reports. When a number is out of date, we say so.

Where the money goes
Roots has no paid staff and no office. To confirm Donations pay for the warehouse, vehicles and fuel, the generator and gas, water containers, shower and hygiene supplies, charging equipment, bins and cleaning materials, and the practical costs of keeping volunteers on the ground.
Full accounts are in the annual report.

How we count
Water is measured by container at loading. Showers are counted per person per session. Charging spaces are counted as sockets and ports available; devices charged are estimated from table occupancy. Litter is weighed at the recycling centre. Meal portions are counted by our partners. Volunteer numbers are people who completed at least one shift in the year.
